Educators from the Peabody Essex Museum (PEM) in Salem, Massachusetts will transport participants to Yin Yu Tang, a complete 200 year old home from China’s southeastern Huizhou region located at PEM. “Visitors” will get an exclusive, close-up look at how the Huang family lived in this grand home for more than two centuries and how it was brought to the United States and reassembled piece-by-piece in Salem. Along the journey, participants will meet Emmy from PEM’s first children’s book, Piece by Piece, as she’s reminded of her grandmother while exploring the nooks and crannies of Yin Yu Tang.
